Passive House
Passive House is a construction standard that is genuinely energy-efficient, comfortable, and affordable at the same time. A Passive House project maximizes the energy efficiency of the fundamental elements inherent in most buildings: the roof, walls, windows, floors, and utility systems. It decreases a building’s energy losses with innovative insulation, heating, and cooling systems, saving resources and operating expenses while reducing the house’s effect on the environment. Passive House isn’t a brand but a reliable building concept.
- BC ENERGY STEP CODE
The Province of British Columbia has committed to taking incremental steps to increase energy-efficiency requirements in the BC Building Code to make buildings net-zero energy ready by 2032. The BC Energy Step Code is a part of the BC Building Code that supports such efforts. In many ways, the BC Energy Step Code follows Passive House’s innovative standards to meet specific energy efficiency requirements for insulation, windows, furnaces, water heaters, lighting, and other equipment and systems. This strategy again confirms our company’s efforts in supplying Passive House-approved products to Metro Vancouver Area.
